Car Alarms and Security Systems
By Tony Lee
Along with having a great stereo system installed in your car, an alarm system is a must. They are one of the best investments you can make. You've paid a lot of money for your vehicle, it's time to protect it! How do you know which security system is right for you? Most systems come with various features and parts. Here are some of the most important features to look for when shopping for a Car Alarm System: Door monitors, vibration shock sensors, keyless entry and trunk release, LCD Transceiver, driver's side priority unlock, engine hood sensor, highly visible alarm indicator, glass-break sensors and many more. If you have never purchased a car alarm before and are not familiar with terms and features, take a few minutes to look over car magazines that discuss various car alarms and features. Try to find ones that rate car alarm systems. What I have found very valuable is reading reviews from buyers and noting any comments made about a given system, either positive or negative. This is important. Know the features of your car and compare them to the system you have in mind. Don't buy a system that has a power lock feature, if your vehicle doesn't have power locks. Talk with a number of salesmen. Make sure they understand your make and model and ask specific questions on how his system will protect YOUR car. Ask HIM what type of car alarm HE has. Choose an alarm system from a name brand company, and expect to spend about $200. There are a lot of off brand alarms on the market, many of which make a beep or two then flash some pretty lights. Remember, your not decorating your house for Christmas, your buying a Car Security System to protect you and your car! Doing some homework before buying a car alarm system will pay off in the long run. Choosing the right car alarm will almost guarantee that you will return to your car after an evening of shopping, and not an empty parking spot. |
