Childrens Bounce House Safety
By Tony Lee
Outdoor Bounce Houses and similar outdoor inflatable toys are turning out to be a popular item at children’s parties. In the summer months these types of outdoor activities are almost a tradition now. Parents may rent or purchase their own inflatable Bounce Houses to get their little party goers outside and participate in more active play. Kids find them almost irresistible. One concern that parents should have is safety. When it comes to setting up and operating one of these outdoor toys, there are some basic safety tips to keep in mind. Before assembly, make sure all operating instructions are understood and the Bounce House is setup properly. Make sure that the structure is well anchored to the ground. In the event that it should come loose, it may cause injury to those in and around the Bounce House. Before entering, children should remove shoes and any sharp clothing objects. Never allow kids to bring food items or foreign objects into the Bounce House. Even an innocent plastic play toy can cause injury during activities inside the structure. Adult supervision is a must. Always have a responsible person or parent supervise all activities inside and out of the structure. Activity inside the Bounce House can be quite intense. Parents should provide a "break period" for kids periodically. This also allows time to inspect the inside for any sharp objects or perform any maintenance. Treat the Bounce House just as you would a trampoline or similar sports event. Make sure soft materials provide a safe landing area where needed. Limit the number of children allowed to play inside at any one time. Overcrowding the structure can cause injury when too many children are moving within it. Safely operated, the inflatable Bounce House can provide many hours of fun and excitement.
