Elmo TMX 2006 Christmas Craze

Crazy Christmas for Elmo in 2006 Many of you saw it on the news, or heard about him on the radio. His name: TMX Elmo, 10th Anniversary. It was October 2006, just two months before Christmas. Elmo made his debut on Television Commercials, ads in the papers and in Toys stores everywhere! No other toy in his category could match Elmos popularity. So just what made this guy such a keeper? Many believe that it was simply his contagious laughter and silly acrobatic movements. Some say that it was the mystery of when, where and how many would be available. Rumors spread quickly, and finally, when he made it to the shelves of toy stores, the crowds went crazy! Fights broke out in stores over Elmo , as customers would camp out all night to be the first in line to catch the elusive creature! If you could'nt catch him in the store, there was always "ebay" to the rescue. Elmos by the thousands filled auctions on the well known auction site, and for a mere $500.00, you could own your own. Yes, Elmo was the hit of the season. Toys will always be a hit for Christmas sales, for the young, and not so young crowd. The Nintendo wii and PS3 were also hits for the holiday season. We are still quite a ways from Christmas, it's hardly Summer. But you can rest assured, somewhere, a toy company is planning to launch the next toy craze that will make the news for the 2008 holiday season. So, when you go out shopping this upcoming Christmas, don't forget your shoulder pads and helmet! |
