Purchasing an Engagement or Wedding Ring
By Tony Lee
Hopefully the ring you are about to buy for your spouse-to-be will be the last one you have to buy. At least that's what we all hope for, right? Buying a diamond wedding or engagement ring could be one of the biggest investments that you make, besides a car and a home. One of the first things you should consider is where you are buying it from. Most big name jewelry stores have the best offers and have a long standing reputation for honest service and guarantees. They realize that their name is on the line when it comes to customer service, quality and price. It's fairly easy to find the right ring just by shopping on the internet or a store in a mall or shopping center. Before you go shopping for that ring, is to set a budget. Most likely you’re going to by it on credit or perhaps cash depending on your financial situation. Being newlyweds can be a financial strain if you don't plan ahead. After you have set a dollar amount to be spent on the ring or rings, shop around for the style that fits your budget. Most jewelry merchants can tell if your honestly shopping to buy or just window shopping. If they see both you and your fiancé walking into their store, it's a dead giveaway. Don't be sold on the first merchant offering you a great deal on a ring. Check out all the jewelry stores, with both high end and low end prices before you choose the store you’re committing to. Once you have decided on the store or website you want to purchase from, know what type of stone or setting caught your eye. Perhaps a diamond may be outside your budget and price range. In this case shop for another stone that both of you decide on. If you have already shopped for a ring, you may have noticed that they are offered with rubies, sapphires and other gemstones that are lower in price. You might even enjoy a gemstone mixture with a single diamond combination. Shopping for a an engagement ring that suites the two of you just takes a little leg work for an eternity of happiness! |
