West Coast Classic Car Events - Summer is Almost Here!

The “Good Guys” Car Show, Pleasanton, Ca The West Coast is well known for its Classic Car and Roadster shows. I don't know if it's the weather or just the fact that lots of Californians get into the hobby of car collecting and restoration. This year in Pleasanton, Ca, (40 miles east of San Francisco) the "Good Guys" car show will hold its 15th Summer Get-Together at the Alameda County Fairgrounds. From May 31 to June 1, 2008, car collectors from all across the state and nation will be able to "show off" their American Powered rods, customs, classics, muscle cars, trucks and specialty cars. What I love about the car show is the chance to see the work and the pride that these guys (and gals) put into their cars. Each year, and one week before the event, you can see the drivers "sporting their rides" all around the tri-valley area. Down on Main Street, Pleasanton, classic cars fill the parking spots, as drivers stop and take in the California culture and grab a bite to eat. You can stroll down old Main Street and talk with the drivers and listen to their stories. It's a great event.....and in that area of California, it's a sign that summer has begun! “Hot August Nights” Car Event, Reno Nevada Another great classic car event that occurs each year in Reno, Nevada called “Hot August Nights”. It’s not called “Hot August Nights” for nothing!
This is a chance to bring your Chevy, cruise your Deuce Coupe and boogie your hot rod down to Reno and celebrate America's love affair with cars and rock & roll! This year’s 2008 event begins on August 1 and goes to August 10. It’s a wild car show that includes every type of classic car and truck imaginable.
When night falls, you can dance your booty off to the sounds of Rock and Roll and experience a "blast from the past" with music from the 50's and '60s.
More than 800,000 people attend the event where cars are the stars and rock 'n roll rules!
An event you just can’t miss! And what a great way to say goodbye to summer on the west coast!
